Ministering: Rev. Kayode Oyegoke

"To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." (Rev. 3:21). The throne of God was promised to the overcomers. The Father made Jesus sit in His throne and in the same way, He wants us to sit there. No child of God is seated on the throne yet. You need to be careful and wait on God concerning the understanding of the throne, so that you do not err in disseminating the truth. You need to be taught scripture because you cannot of your own accord study to a place where you can sit on the throne. You need some spiritual intelligence, judgment, growth, patience and authority to have a full understanding of the word.

The least of the oracle of God, which is also called the first principles of the oracle of God or the milk is not clear to the most men in the body of Christ. Without proper understanding of this word, the church will not be able to accurately ascend to the understanding of the meat of the word. Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin was raised by God to teach the milk of the word to the body of Christ. A minister who is not trained in the thoughts of Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin concerning the milk of scripture, cannot accurately handle the meat of the word.

Part of the trainings under Hagin is to know how to accurately divide the word at each level—from the milk and then to meat. When you are rightly taught of the word, you will gain mastery and skill, and authority will rest upon you. Thereby, the attitude (nature) of that word will grow in you. It is difficult to find people who do well with the division of scripture without having drunk from Hagin. He also had spiritual encounters (visions) which were beyond just foretelling the future. “Foretelling” is the least ministry of a prophet. Hagin's encounters with Jesus were scripturally aligned because through them, Jesus taught him the word and put things in him.

The real ministry of a New Testament prophet is to teach the Bible. The reason for the fivefold ministry is for the perfecting of the saints and for the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:11-12). The true work of the ministry is to interface with the face of Christ and the Father (to know Them), and to move it into the body. The things we do by ourselves for the ministry are just contributions towards the work. Real ministry work is when you are changing and growing up. God is not pleased when you are busy with activities and not growing up.

“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” (Eph. 4:12-13). If ministers of the gospel lose sight of what true ministry is, their sheep (congregation) will also be lost. What blinds many is ignorance. Many ministers of the gospel are after gain and do not consider that which pleases God. What really matters in the spirit is that people are making progress and growing spiritually. God wants the souls whom He has planted in churches to grow and develop. Your growth is tied to your exposure to God and not to ministry activities.

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Tim. 2:19). You can belong to a church but you may not be growing up or have a sincere heart. Satan does not mind people getting born again and being filled with the Holy Ghost. His concern is that men do not grow spiritually or know God’s expectations for them as Christians. God is not after ministers' growing their ministry but that they should truly know Him.

True ministry will affect Satan; it will cut down the prince of the power of the air. Satan does not rest, he works every time. He is the one who is working in the children of disobedience (Eph. 2:2). However, the true work of the ministry will stop that. Zealousness in working for God does not count as working for God. This is not to condemn zealous acts but we need to realize that somethings are more important. Your awareness or knowledge level is tied to your growth.

Although a prophet can see visions, this is not the primary characteristic that distinguishes him. Ministry is more than just what you do for God. Rather, it is what the Lord is doing in you. Ministry is not about the five-fold ministry but about what they can do in people. Ministers are called to be stewards of God's mysteries (1 Cor. 4:2).

You must be taught on how to please God before you can know how to please Him. When God said of Jesus, “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased” (Matt. 3:17), it was not because of the miracles He was doing but because He had walked worthy of His God. What will qualify us to be sons is by our walk in the spirit and not our works. However, this truth has been stolen from man by Satan. God does not place premium on our handwork because our hands are dirty and will spoil His work. He rather desires that we move with our legs first (in the spirit) and then, our hands will be engaged later.

It is priests that do works for God. They are usually anointed in their ears, on their toes and on their fingers. This shows us that hearing comes first, then walking and eventually, a progression towards the hands. As such, everything that has a focus only on the hands without first hearing is not recorded as works before God. The first work is to hear.

"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." (Rev. 1:3). We cannot overcome without hearing. We must keep hearing from the beginning to the end of our walk. It is possible that we stay hearing for many years. Some people get weary of hearing because they are used to being busy. Satan trains and trails such fellows so that they will not sit down to hear and eventually be saved. We must be healed of that heart state that always prioritizes doing things for God over hearing and being saved in our souls because it is a sign of haste (Is. 28:16).

The Jews found it difficult to believe on Him who was sent (Jesus) because they were people who loved doing things physically. They did not know that believing on Him who was sent is all there is doing the works of God (Jn. 6:29). It will take the power of the Holy Ghost to make people sit down and listen because the average person is a doer.

Jesus led those who were in captivity (at the New Birth) into further captivity (to concentrate on learning God) and gave gifts unto men, so that the captives could be taught (Eph. 4:8). Although He led the church captive, many people have become free from His captivity and as such, they can do other things. This is because their minds are not focused on being saved but are preoccupied with works. Satan designed men in such a way that they can boast and feel complete with the works of their hands.

The most difficult thing for a man to do is to sit down and be told what to do, but this was what Jesus did for thirty years. At the age of twelve, He demonstrated some wisdom. In spite of how zealous as He was of His Father’s work, God told Him to go back to His parents because it was not yet time for His Father’s business (Lk. 2:46-52). It was when He became anointed as He returned back from the wilderness that He was given the permission to preach (Matt. 4:17).

Another thing Satan can encumber us with is creating solutions to worldly problems. This can be so involving, overwhelming and endless, just so that we will never give attention to the things of God. Satan can downplay our growing up in such a manner that it begins to sound unimportant to ministers to allow messages to be taught in that area. This is because they know that if the flock hears those messages and grow, they will leave them and go elsewhere. However, this is fear. People should be allowed to grow and become stable in the spirit. God wants us to develop and become strong.

One cannot grow by doing church activities. It is good to be diligent with such activities, for they may help build good character in us. However, they cannot make us formidable against spirits. We would not be able to fight or overcome spirits of death with good character alone. God’s intention is to build us up against our enemy (Acts 20:32).

The manner with which God wants to develop us is the same manner with which our enemies were framed before they fell. They were framed with knowledge, glory, and spirit but Satan keeps turning us in the opposite direction to things unspiritual so that we will never have the spiritual frame to war with him. Satan elevated the system of the world because of us. Of a truth, the world is not useful to Satan, and as such, he is only offering to us what he is not using. However, God is giving us that which He has with Him in eternity.

We need to see that our engagement is spiritual; we fight and wrestle against unseen beings, although they are real (Eph. 6:12). The church also needs to be trained to know this. Satan has deceived men by making them think that their enemies were witches and wizards or occultic people. He has also made men engage in pseudo spirituality through certain activities that makes them think they are spiritual.

When you leave God's order or are not in alignment with it, Satan can lead you to do anything. When God has left a manifestation, Satan occupies it and stays there. When people decide to tabernacle there, he will trap and use them. An example of this is some practices that Old Testament saints used to have concerning prayers. There was a time that they used to burn candles and use incense. Some people still practice this in present times, but God has left this practice and moved to the New Testament order where our incense should be spiritual. As you pray to God, you burn incense to Him because you carry that sweet smelling savour with you everywhere.

Satan hates your involvement in the unseen; he does not want you to be a personality that interfaces with the unseen and walks in the Spirit. Those who do not walk in the spirit are not making any movement at all in the spirit; they are only beating the air. It is important to know that when you move (walk), you grow and when you walk and grow, you live. When you are growing up, you are walking in the spirit. Satan hates your walk in the spirit. He will compare you to other people who are doing well in the world, in order to discourage you. However, you should not be sad about whatever state you are in the natural, while you are growing in the spirit. That which happens with men in the natural should not define you. God can bless you, but not according to men's timing. At times, the reason God delays us from having certain natural blessings at certain times is because those things are idols in our hearts. They can take the place of our worship to God.

“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.” (Rev. 12:5). The phrase "caught up'' is a fast season in God's calendar of doing things. There is a season in God's calendar for you to be caught up. Entrance into Eternal Life is a very fast agenda. That period of being caught up is the period of being drawn into Eternal Life. The season of being caught up is also a season of doing a fast doctrine of God. The doctrine of Christ involves walking because it takes some time. It is a slow and steady journey but towards the end, the speed increases. This is because at the end of the veil of Christ, when you are about entering into everlasting life, you will run.

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.” (Rev. 12:1-2). The book of Revelation is of full of doctrines. The woman was raised by doctrine; she was a composition of people who were generated by doctrine and in her was found a child. The baby was also not just one person, like the woman. Both of them represent churches. The baby was once in the stature of the woman but later became a man-child by obeying a doctrine. This represents a type of transition or movement of the church in the spirit.

“And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. [17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Rev. 12:16-17). The child with whom the woman was pregnant was the first born, while the the last child was on the ground. The last child is referred to as the remnant of her seed, and just like the woman and the man-child, the child is also not just one person. The importation of that verse is that there are several persons who are keeping the commandments of God. Satan sees them as one because by the commandment, they have become one. The commandment that the remnant were keeping had been finished by the child while he was on earth. When Satan fell to the ground, he met the remnant on earth and as such, he had access to go after and fight them.

The mother had ascended, and out of her came out a matured one (the man-child) who was not born on earth but in heaven. The child got to a place where he moved both himself and his mother up to heaven, where he will be born. To be born is to have an entrance into Eternal Life. The man-child was already born as an everlasting man; this was why He found an entrance into the womb of the mother. He however needed a womb to stay in, from where God the Father would pick him.

God prepared the womb of the woman, upgraded it and made an abode for the child. This was because the woman did not have the capacity of the child yet. Mary's womb naturally could not give birth to Jesus but the Holy Ghost overshadowed her and the power of the Highest came upon her (Luk. 1:35). That which was borne in her was also the seed of God. Mary did not conceive an ordinary child and her status in the natural could not bring forth God's seed. This was the same scenario with this child who was about to be born to a church whose level is not yet where the child is. But because this child would be born, God worked in the woman to be able to accommodate the child. Giving birth to the child is same as saying to Jesus, "Today have I begotten thee. Sit down at my right hand…"(Heb. 1:5,13). The same birth process by which Jesus was born on the resurrection morning is about to occur to some people.

Immediately the man-child was born, the actual estate of the woman was revealed: she could not go with the child because she was not yet ready. She needed food for that movement (Rev. 12:6). It was the child who granted the mother the ability to fly; it was because of him she had the the two wings (Rev. 12:14). The baby that was born was not a helpless baby. He was a person who sat on the throne, and as he sat, he gave commands that the mother should be winged. As such, the power that took the child up also took the mother to the wilderness and dropped her there to be fed. The devil went to the wilderness after he was dropped to the earth and found the woman there. He was angry and poured persecution towards her but the ground opened and swallowed the flood, such that he could not reach her. This was because she was already hedged in. He then went after the remnant of her seed (Rev. 12:15-17). However, they overcame. When Satan could not overcome them, he resorted to looking for a man whom he would possess with all his abilities, leading to Revelation 13.

The period when the man-child was waiting in the womb of the mother was a period for transition into Eternal Life. What would carry him into Eternal Life was something that he has to do fast or shortly. The things that are to be done shortly are the things of Eternal Life (Rev. 22:6). "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isa. 40:31). Those who wait upon the Lord start by walking (Christ). They then graduate to running (everlasting life) and eventually mount with wings like eagles (Eternal life). There is a doctrine that will make you develop the wings of eagles. That was what the man-child used in being caught up.

"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3). The stature of Jesus when He was sent in this scripture was not Christ but the Son of God. This is the Jesus that will make you to be caught up to God and to His throne. The principle that occurs at the border of everlasting life into Eternal Life is the principle of beholding. However, the engagement of seeing at this point is a crash program, and it is stronger and faster. The speed of the doctrine of Eternal Life is a fast one; it cannot be run with human energy. It is only eternal energy that can cause a man to come into it.

When a man is caught up, he will hear things—he will hear what the Spirit is saying. There are levels in the dissemination of the word. The first word a man will hear from the Spirit is the word that will catch him up—this is the first trumpet. The first trumpet is to "come up hither" and it is a doctrine. We should enter it and quickly do it. You will not be able to just go up as at when you hear to "come up hither" because there is a power that ought to catch you to go up. In the New Testament "come up hither" has been compressed as a learning. You will have to travel the distance between man, everlasting life and Eternal Life before you can get to God because God is life eternal. You would be drawn up with some kind of power that is a visitation of mercy. It will then pull you up and cease you from where you are occupying. When God told John to come up hither, the word pulled him up (Rev. 4:1).

We are being called to come up hither. There is a place we have gotten to in the spirit, but there is yet another calling to come higher. If that child was not in the womb of his mother, and he had not elevated to that estate in his soul (the heavens of the dragon), he would not have been in a place where the dragon could not do anything to him. The child lifted up by the glory of God and his destiny was to sit on the throne of God.

The issue of the throne is that it is an eternal promise. When you find yourself hearing about the throne amidst billions of people, it is a proof that you have been called out of many people to hear about it first. It may look like it is not real because it is not common among many people, but that does not invalidate it. This is similar to what happened in the days of Noah. The Ark he was building was the key to being caught up.

Your everlasting learning is a preparation to be caught up. God will pour rain and that rain that will fall and present you up to God. God will also give us things that will make reign. These things are doctrine, and they work by obedience.

Building is by doctrine. God gave instructions to Noah on how to build the Ark, and he obeyed. When you do this doctrine, you are preparing yourself to be caught up. You will not hear the sound that will make you caught up if you do not have the commensurate stature for it. The word “caught up” means “Harpazo” which means to seize you by force. There is a particular doctrine of God that will seize you by force. As you take this doctrine, you will grow wings as an eagle.

There are two dimensions to the teaching of reward—the first is to hear the message of the reward for the purpose of being seized. However, the fact that you have been seized does not mean that it is finished. You will be seized into Eternal Life and then, God will begin to open you up again so that you can know the reward in another phase. All the things that were promised to the churches in the book of Revelation are not ordinary—the white stone, etc. They are properties that make up God, for He hid Himself in them.

If God is our exceeding great reward, it means that those things are of Him. The reward itself is split into two: the first six which carry the number of a man and the last one which is the throne. The book of Ezekiel describes that it is One who is in the likeness of a man that sat on the throne (Eze. 1:26). He is not an ordinary man. He is a man of Eternal Life who is another kind of Being entirely. When God is coming with His reward or coming with clouds or coming quickly, it is not ordinary. It means that He is coming down with all His properties. He is the God who sits on the throne, and He wants to catch us up to that dimension and cause us to sit on the throne too.

We are in a fearful season in the spirit because a Being whom the earth does not know is visiting it.
