“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. [2] For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: [3] If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.” (2 Cor. 5:1-3). It is only a man who has the commensurate stature of the eternal house that can groan or call for it. You cannot groan or call for this house if your desires are still earthly. When our mortality is being swallowed up, it is because another house which we are wearing is being dissolved. The house we should be clothed with is a garment from heaven, however, not many people are desiring to be clothed upon with this house.

In the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had a clothing and as such, they did not feel naked. However, when they ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, their eyes were opened, and that clothing lifted (Gen. 3:7). Then, they became vulnerable to everything like the elements of the earth, attack from animals, pain, and sorrow because they no longer had their shield or protection (the clothing God gave them).

What they ate brought them to an awareness of their nakedness. The tree had a power, which had some laws. The fruit of the tree had death embedded in it. God commanded them not to eat from that tree, not to test them but to protect them. This was because He was aware of the danger of the evil tree. God would not have put danger in a tree, neither would He have tested or tempted Adam with evil. Therefore, it was not God who planted that tree in the garden. The one who planted that tree was the same being who lured Adam and Eve into eating of the tree and later told them that they were naked. He came in the form of a serpent but later grew wings and drove himself into the heights of the powers of the earth (Rev. 12:3,9).

When they ate the fruit, it killed them in their spirits, and they started getting enlightened about their external state. Then, the animals and all of creation came under the curse. This was when some animals began to be separated as clean and unclean. The definition of clean and unclean animals did not begin with the law of Moses because even in the time of Noah, there were certain animals that could not be offered as a sacrifice to God (Gen. 8:20). The purity of animals is according to how much of the curse came upon them. Some animals had the power to resist the curse because they were weak in nature and had a level of innocence. This is why the lamb is a clean animal—it is weak in nature.

The ability of an animal to preserve its innocence is not determined by it. Animals are limited in their will and have little power of choice, as such, they can be controlled. If this was not true, the serpent would have resisted being used by the devil. Animals can be possessed without their will; they cannot resist being used as a host of a higher form. This was why the herd of swine could not resist being possessed by the demons when Jesus cast them out of the man at Gadara (Luke 8:26-37).

All that Jesus did at Gadara was to give those men an opportunity for salvation because they had become as the lost sheep of Israel. They were engaging in unholy business by dealing with swine, which were not accepted (as clean animals) in Israel. However, they resisted Jesus because He came to stop their means of prosperity and gain. This is how many men are today; they can go a long way for the sake of gain, but we must be delivered from these spirits. There are some deliverances that will shut down gain.

When some ministers cannot withstand the persecution of men in a place who are after gain, they would rather just leave their city. It would take men like the Apostles to break through such cities. There are many souls that are crippled in the spirit but are not desirous of deliverance. Many do not even seek the enlightening of their eyes. They prefer to be blind and ignorant so that they would not have to bear the weight of the responsibility which the opening of the eyes calls for.

The opening of Adam’s eyes brought a lot of things to earth. The covering that God gave Adam and Eve was supposed to protect them from hurt. This covering (garment) was a fortress, and it was not ordinary. God put it in them with some grace. But after the fall, they fell into a state where they needed another form of covering. God designed a garment for them that was better than the leaves they had used to make covering for themselves (Gen. 3:21). This signifies that God did not give them the exact glory they had before the fall but another. That clothing was a denotation of what Satan wanted to turn man into—flesh.

Jesus also had a spiritual clothing or covering that made it difficult for Him to be caught and killed by the men who constantly sought for His life. He had to submit Himself to be killed. Sin could not be laid on Him because He was yet to take off His garment (John 18:3-12).

The word "house" in 2 Corinthians 5:1-2 is different from the natural body. The body is the tabernacle, but there is a house of this tabernacle. Our bodies should not be without coverings. Diseases hit bodies because we lack covering but God did not create our bodies to be vulnerable. Satan has deceived man with fake coverings that are demonic (charms), for they are lying signs and wonders.

Man has walked out of God’s protection but God still intends to protect him. The place where we can find this protection is not an ordinary plain in the spirit. We are yet to get to that place of complete safety. God has made provision for man for a house that is far better than what Adam had. This house is not earthly but eternal.

"And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment." (Zech. 3:4). Clothing is linked with iniquity. The filthy garment cannot be taken away until a commandment is issued for it to go. An angel had to be present to take away the filthy garment from Joshua the high priest. After iniquity is dealt with and the ministry of reconciliation has been perfectly done, the commandment to take away the filthy garment will then be given. To take away the filthy garment is to dissolve it. Then, there would be a change of raiment so that we would not be found naked. What precedes the change of garment is the reconciliation of iniquity. Therefore, we must attain the righteousness of God.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation…” (2 Cor. 5:17-18). A man cannot be reconciled to God except he is Christ. An unbeliever cannot be given such ministry because it is reserved for people who have the stature of Christ. It is reserved for people who have been made new.

Jesus hated wickedness and loved righteousness (Heb. 1:9) and yet, He was made sin so that he could be sacrificed for mankind. This was a high level of sacrifice. His sacrifice gave God the rule to make people move from iniquity to righteousness. The reason why God trained Jesus to hate wickedness and love righteousness was so that He could be made righteous—to be saved onto the utmost. We are yet to be made the righteousness of God, as against the righteousness that just exists in the Spirit. The seal of everlasting righteousness is the actual righteousness; it is the righteousness of God.

"I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness." (Rom. 6:19). We are made free from sin when we can yield ourselves to righteousness and then, unto holiness. When one bears fruits unto holiness, the end is everlasting life. Eternal life is not an end but a beginning. Everlasting life is the last preparation for the soul to enter into the new beginning called Eternal Life.

"And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness." (Rom. 8:10). As we yield ourselves to righteousness, we become free. However, it is possible to become free but not saved. There is a freedom that leads to salvation—this freedom is the gospel of Christ (the gospel of life). We get life by righteousness, therefore the gospel of Christ is the gospel of righteousness (Rom. 1:17). The other gospel is the gospel of God, which is the gospel of everlasting life. The life of Christ will enable a man to come to God's own life.

The desire of God is for man to have everlasting life and not perish (John 3:16). Those who do not have everlasting life are those whom the gospel is hidden from; they are the ones who perish (2 Cor. 4:3). The stature of Christ is an escape from corruption to an extent, therefore, it can still be corrupted. Some Christians believe that after the new birth experience they cannot go to hell, but this is not true.

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost…" (2 Cor. 4:3). “Our gospel” here is everlasting life, and this was what Jesus taught while He was on earth. He came to make men know and understand the everlasting gospel, while Apostle Paul preached about life (Christ). The reason why men could not attain everlasting life while Jesus was on earth is because the entrance into that life is Christ's life, which Paul taught. This was why Jesus had to teach Apostle Paul and then gave him access into that life. Then, Paul moved from Christ life to everlasting life.

The gospel is beyond preaching and evangelizing as we know it. One can evangelize and preach and yet, no one will hear him. Hearing is not necessarily measured by the physical ability of a man to sit and hear a preacher. It is an inward work. The gospel is an instrument that can be delivered and manifested through words. When it is preached, something comes into manifestation. The gospel sets the apparatus of change, which can defeat and stop people from perishing.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. [18] But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Cor. 3:17-18). The gospel is a spirit called the Lord and where this spirit is, there is liberty. However, it is possible for Him to be present in a place and people may not be set free. His operation has to be triggered. The gospel is a glass (mirror) of God; it is not just the bible. It is a spirit and a being. A preacher must be anointed and called to bring people and the mirror together so that they can behold the mirror and then change. The gospel is effective when people see it.

In the spirit of the gospel, there is an image to behold because there is a face that the mirror holds. This face is the face of the Son of God, from which there is a transmission of knowledge and understanding. Face gives a perfect knowledge of a person. As such, when the gospel is preached and people behold the mirror, they are changed into the image thereby. The church ought to be a place where people behold God. It is only with an open face that we can behold the glory of the Lord.

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (2 Cor. 4:6). The glory of the Lord can only be seen through the knowledge of some things. It can only be seen in another person's face. The open face is Christ’s face, and this is the only face by which we can see the glory of God.

The face of Jesus Christ is the body of knowledge that Christ is as God’s glory. This means that God made Jesus into a glorious person, in His glory. As you come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ, the materials that make Him up will be invested in you. He is the righteousness of God; He is the right righteousness that will never fade. As you learn, know and do righteousness, you will become the same righteousness. This is similar to seeing and being begotten by those things. When these revelations come into your members and instruct you into another being, you will be begotten in glory. The energy of those revelations that made Jesus the Son of God will also work in you and making you a son.

God’s intention is to make us His righteousness. God’s righteousness is a man who is begotten of God with the capacity of an everlasting glory. He is a man that exudes a kind of glory that really pleases God. It is such a man that God will validate as His own product (work). There are many works that God’s hand has made, but His only true product or work is Jesus Christ. The only work of Satan is everlasting death—the man of iniquity. Satan’s work is his image while the work of God is also His image, who is the Begotten Son. Every other work is nothing to God.

Jesus is the beginning of God’s authentic work. All other works of God shall perish but His true work will remain. Changing a person is a work. God does not need to take a man back to Genesis to work on him, He just needs to make the man keep beholding the gospel. The gospel is activated through preaching. One powerful thing about the mirror (the oracle of God) is that it is present everywhere. It also does not stop preaching after the minister is done preaching; it continues to instruct us afterwards.

Anyone who would be a minister should stay on the mirror and learn from a preacher who preaches the mirror. As such, he will begin to gain skill and listen as he watches and also get imparted. The mirror knows all of us because it is a Person – it is the Spirit of the Lord. What the mirror gives one to behold is a nature. After a while of beholding it, it would have emptied itself completely into the man and then envelop him. The mirror is the house (or tent) of glory.

God never leaves him uncovered after working on and changing him. The purpose of this change is to alter the laws within him. When God alters the laws within, the house without will dissolve. This is because the house that does not dissolve is attached to a law. Thus, the ministry of reconciliation aims at dissolving the inward person, which is made up by laws. When those laws are taken off, his outward man will dissolve, thus making him naked. It is in this state that the new house can come upon him. The purpose of everlasting life is for the dissolving of the house within. We have a house over us that holds down the flesh. It is a graveyard for the soul and it stays by laws.

“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” (1 Cor. 15:26). Death is the last enemy to be destroyed. Death is the work (or person) while the grave is its house. The reason why a person can stay in the graveyard is because of death. Therefore, to deal with the graveyard, you have to deal with death. The strength of sin is the law. This law is not the law of sin and death but the law of hell and death. Victory takes place when death has been swallowed up (1 Cor. 15:54).

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory…” (2 Cor. 4:17). The weight of glory is the material for making the house, which is eternal. As such, the house is both eternal and glorious. In the same way God gave us the Holy Ghost (the earnest of the Spirit), He will also give us the preparation necessary for the new house.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight: [8] We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. [9] Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him." (2 Cor. 5:7-9). These are ways by which we receive the house. One way is that while we are present in the body (on earth), we are absent in it but present with the Lord. Being present in the body does not mean walking in the flesh, but that one has not yet fully developed the consciousness for the house that is to come. But when the work of everlasting life is fully done in us, it will make us absent from the body.

Sometimes, you have to make an extra effort to achieve some things in the spirit because that realm of the spirit has not yet become your natural habitat. However, a time will come when you will not need to do those extra things anymore because you would have inherited that way in the spirit, and it would have become your normal home. To attain this state with the Lord, we need to be away from the body. We can get to this point when we build up ourselves in the spirit. When we attain this state, whether we are present or absent from the body, we will be accepted of Him.

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2). The place that Jesus has gone to prepare for us is Eternal Life. As such, our light afflictions will redound to us the proceeds of glory which Jesus is using to prepare a place for us (2 Cor. 4:17). A time will come when this presence of God will be tangible to us and will rest upon us, even while at meetings. This presence is a reward that will be divided upon those who are faithful. Therefore, we should take it seriously. We should not underestimate the possibility of these things but believe they are true because Jesus has said so to us.
