The Process of Escape from the Corruptible (ANAM)

God wants to raise incorruptible men; it is His original intention for making man (Genesis 1:26). Adam was not made incorruptible or else he would not have fallen. He was made a living soul so that he could thereafter be made incorruptible. The tree of life in the garden was the tree of incorruptibility; it was put there to make Adam incorruptible.

Man’s eyes closed at the fall and he fell into the corruptible. Man did not become as corrupted as he is today at once. Man has become so blind that he now lives in a world of vanity and the corruptible now defines him. The world defines us by how much of the corruptible that we have been able to gather. Men now come to church to use God to get the corruptible not knowing that there is a provision for them that is higher than the corruptible.

What is responsible for the walk of the gentiles is the vanity of their mind (Ephesians 4:17). Darkened understanding informs a walk that alienates man from God. A christian can still be walking in this manner. What a man sees determines what he pursues. The devil worked so much on man, making him to see nothing else but vanity in an attempt to thwart God’s agenda.

Presently, man feels incomplete when he does not amass corruptible things. The first thing Christ comes to do is to wean us from vanity and the realm of corruptible things. Christ, which is the first learning we encounter, can not be received by a carnal man (1 Corinthians 2:14).

Paul was separated unto the gospel of God which is the gospel of the incorruptible (Romans 1:1-2). By the gospel, God has promised the incorruptible afore by his prophets. The gospel of God is a promise of the incorruptible. God made this promise the day he intended to make man in His own incorruptible image.

The tender love of God is the backbone for the gospel. The purpose of the gospel is to give man everlasting life (John 3:16). This everlasting life is not automatically received at new birth; it is only a promise that we are capacitated to journey towards at new birth. If we do not do the curriculum of Christ very well, we would not be able to relate with these substances. As we approach Christ, the eyes of our understanding is opened so that we can live differently; live by the unseen. The life that is powered by the invisible is what prepares us for the incorruptible.

Man’s limitation has always been the visible. In Christ, the visible is going to be devalued before us so that our souls can detach from the natural. It is teachings in Christ that instructs us to “look not at the things that are seen, but at the things which are not seen” (2 Cointhians. 4:18). We should be willing to take steps that are contrary to what the world says and contrary to our mind’s arrangement. We should get to a point where we no longer live based on our sight but by faith.

The reason men are greedy and covetous is because they place premium on things that are seen. Many instances when we have been denied such things are what give room for instructions that reorder our lives to live off the invisible. The Lord tries to shift our focus from the things that are seen to the things which are not seen. Things that are seen often cause pain and lead to inferiority complex. It is wonder that no one ever feels ashamed about lacking invisible things.

In Christ, we are enlightened so that we can see things that are truly valuable. The Kingdom of Christ would first purge us of things like covetousness and idolatry before we can inherit it (Ephesians 5:5).

The gospel is centered around things that are invisible. The gospel that was taught to Abraham was about invisible things. This is what allowed Abraham to be led to live a life of faith till he could live a life free from the corruptible. Things that perish should not define us or cast inferiority complex on us.

God intends to redeem us from our short-sightedness which is a product of living a life based on the corruptible. When God opens our eyes of understanding, our outlook of life changes and we are able to discern things that are perishing. When such things come our way afterwards, we use them rightly and discard them without attaching to them.

As we hear the gospel of Christ, what begins to bother us is how much of Him we have attained and how quickly we obey God. A man who is quick to obey God is quick to attainment and quick to inherit.

At the new birth, we are not immediately purged of our lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life (1 John 2:16). We often come to God in hope of many earthly acquisitions and attainments. Unknown to us, the incorruptible man is a great achievement. The godly man is great gain even though he is not yet incorruptible (1Timothy 6:6).

The reason why the corruptible weighs so much on us, and we cannot turn our backs on it is because our eyes are not yet open. Many of us are yet to realize that invisible things are actually more tangible than visible things. The fact that a thing is invisible does not mean it is not tangible. This is why we need the training of faith which teaches us to live by the word of God.

In the dealings of the faith of the Son, words come to alter and change us. Those words are invisible but we learn to take steps and make adjustments as revealed by the words. We exercise ourselves by the faith that is in Christ Jesus until we become holy. To be holy is to have life (John 10:10). The words that come in the doctrine of Christ are to make us have life. Although, becoming godly by the words of Christ is great gain, it is not the end of salvation.

The danger of settling or resting at the formation of the godly man is that it is possible to go back (2 Peter 2:20). Without the father’s new cup, we cannot exhaust the intention of God. The contents of that cup are also going to be brought to us by revelation. We would hear it, understand it and do it also.

We should not rest until we have reached incorruptibility. Although Jesus was a son, he still learned obedience of the incorruptible life (Hebrews 5:7-9). Jesus had attained Christhood but was still cautious of death. The everlasting gospel is the gospel of incorruptibility which God promised to man. God is incorruptible and has incorruptible substances. However, He can not give these substances to a man who has not first been made Christ.

We have to continue to do righteousness until we arrive at holiness (Romans 6:19). The peak of holiness is charity.

It is immaturity that makes us focus on the infirmities of others and speak evil of them. God intends to raise us to the place where we overlook the infirmities of others and see the good in them always. Marriages are kept by overlooking the infirmities of partners. Charity suffers long (1 Corinthians 13:4). Love improves forbearance. It is only a holy man that can sight God and see His substances of eternal life. A holy man is one who is taught how to love (1 Thessalonians 4:9).

The fruits of righteousness is life and peace while the fruit of unrighteousness is death (Romans 6:19). It is the revelation of everlasting substances that would enable us to serve God for the purpose of receiving everlasting life (Romans 6:22). We are to obey righteousness until we become holy enough to begin to obey the instructions of everlasting life. Everlasting life is the inheritance, while the gift of eternal life is the reward (Romans 6:22-23).

God is not looking for anything short of incorruptible men. Our journey through learning Christ and the Father is so that we can learn incorruptible things. It is not good to be mere and without inheritance. Therefore, we must do everything to become Christ so that we can complete our course.

The reason for all the things God is unveiling is because he has promised eternal life. He accompanies His revelations with His presence to make us know that these things are real. These are all for the purpose of our growth so that we can eventually become incorruptible. Just as we have become familiar with the realm of Christ, the things of the incorruptible would also be made clearer for us to obey.
